Apple Releases Beta Software for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and HomePod

Developers can now test upcoming software updates

Public betas coming in July

Apple has released beta versions of its upcoming software updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and HomePod software. Developers can now download the beta software and provide feedback to Apple. The public betas will be available in July.

The new software updates include new features and improvements. For example, iOS 18 includes a new Lock Screen with customizable widgets, a new Focus mode for controlling notifications, and a new Messages app with support for editing and unsending messages. iPadOS 18 includes a new Stage Manager feature for multitasking, a new Files app with support for external drives, and a new Reference Mode for the Apple Pencil.

macOS 13 Ventura includes a new Stage Manager feature for multitasking, a new Continuity Camera feature that allows users to use their iPhone as a webcam, and a new Freeform app for collaboration.

tvOS 16 includes a new Home app with support for Matter, a new Apple Music app with support for spatial audio, and a new Fitness+ app with new workouts and metrics.

watchOS 9 includes a new Medications app for tracking medications, a new Sleep app with support for sleep stages, and a new Workout app with new workouts and metrics.

HomePod software 16 includes a new Ambient Sounds feature, a new Find My feature for finding lost HomePods, and a new Handoff feature for transferring music between HomePods and other devices.
