Eva Jinek: A Rising Star in Dutch Journalism
Early Life and Education
Eva Jinek was born on December 19, 1980, in Purmerend, Netherlands. Her father was a Turkish immigrant and her mother was Dutch. Jinek studied journalism at the University of Amsterdam and graduated in 2004.
Career
Jinek began her career as a news reporter for the Dutch public broadcaster NOS. She quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the most popular news anchors in the Netherlands. In 2013, she left NOS to join the commercial broadcaster RTL Nederland.
At RTL, Jinek hosted the talk show "Jinek," which became one of the most popular shows on Dutch television. The show featured interviews with politicians, celebrities, and other newsmakers. Jinek is known for her tough but fair interviewing style.
Awards and Recognition
Jinek has won numerous awards for her work in journalism, including the Golden Televizier-Ring for Best Female Presenter in 2016 and 2017. She was also named one of the most influential women in the Netherlands by the magazine "Opzij" in 2017.
Personal Life
Jinek is married to the Dutch television producer and director Sander van Meurs. The couple has two children. Jinek is also a vocal advocate for women's rights and LGBT rights.
